Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem

Have you ever longed for a place you once knew? Perhaps a small village on the coast where you and your family used to go for holidays. For Koos Du Plessis it was “Boshoek”. For me it is Hartenbos. For you it’s another place, somewhere you can only go now in your dreams. Because it no longer exists. We all have a place like that; a memory now mostly lost in the mire of the daily struggle to survive and the crushing blows of reality.

For Jesus it is Jerusalem. The place that should have been host to His Coronation, but instead became His Living Hell, the Circus Maximus where he was killed without cause; not by the evil Scribes and Pharisees, but by my sin and yours. It is the Place He longs for; the City of Crucifixion from whence He left and the place where He will return to set in order that which satan has turned into chaos.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; pray for Her for She is the City of Hope, the Constantinople of Christ and the Capitol of His future Reign. And fear not for Her safety, for She is protected by the Almighty Himself and all who rise against Her shall be ground into fine dust beneath the feet of our Saviour (Zechariah 14: 12 - 21).
