New Avalon

A 21st Century Psalm

At Daybreak's end, beyond the Wall,

I waded through the Waterfall,

past the old forgotten Spring,

I crossed the silent Silver Stream;

to Asgard's mythic Underhall

Through the cave of doubts and fears,

hanging down like chandeliers,

I crawled for nights and years and days

to beat the madness of the Maze;

shattered shards of frozen tears

Emerging on the other side,

I cast my gaze both far and wide

Somewhere in the fading Dusk

I glimpsed a secret hint of Musk,

and flew beyond the Great Divide

Where the Ice and Land collide

like Dreams of Love and suicide

I heard the Fluttering of wings,

forgotten words of conquered Kings;

the Watchers waiting for the Bride

At last I entered Shining Shore,

the place my soul was longing for

A Beach of Diamonds beckoned bright,

inviting in the Starry Night,

and every wave brought thousands more

Jesus waited there for me,

through Ages, Times, and Centuries,

to pose the question: Will you take

the riches of this frozen Lake,

or drink the Cup of Jubilee?

For I will put My Words in you

to shatter Lands like warriors do,

Your sacrifice will open eyes,

cut merciless through doubts and lies:

Wilt thou be rich, or ever true?

I looked into His Eyes and saw

in a moment, real and raw;

the tortured hours on the tree,

His wild, unbridled Love for me

and soon forgot the diamond shore

I chose the Chalice of the Son,

learned the Secrets, one by one

Alas, no Diamond bliss for me,

but I was blind and now I see;

His Words will build New Avalon
