The Butterfly Space Nebula and its Fluttering Wings

The complex structure of the Butterfly Nebula has, at its core, an exploded white dwarf star, roughly the size of Earth, which sends forth strong "winds" that change the appearance of the Nebula's "wings" over hundreds of years. If it were possible to observe these changes over a contracted time period, like with a sped-up video, it would reveal a mesmerizing fluttering or vibration of the wings of the tender butterfly!
